Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds
There are many ways virtual worlds can be used some include gaming experiences, training programs for military or medical training. One example of a pro can be excessing imagination. According to the article "After Second Life, Can Virtual Worlds Get a Reboot" by Diane Mehta it mentions that Minecraft "it's digital LEGOS if you will, but it's a space for kids to exercise their imagination to connect with others to also want to build and create things. However there can be cons, one example would be believing a virtual world and the real world are the same. According to the article "Virtual world may impact real-world behavior", it states that "Research suggests that how you represent yourself in the virtual world of video games may affect how you behave toward others in the real world. Virtual worlds can foster creativity because you can create anything in virtual worlds there's no limits so if you can think it, you can create it. I think the future of virtual worlds will grow. Right now, students are going to class virtually because of the pandemic we have going on in the real world. Maybe in the future, someone can create a virtual school.
I totally agree that virtual worlds may impact real-world behavior. In a good and negative way depending on the reasons for the use of virtual worlds and the acts you are doing on the platform as well. For example, violent games and activities some users may be using could transfer to the real-world through their behavior.
